Building to Begin at 1184 Hughes Ave., Lima

Note Change:  Saturday, July 12 is now the date set for the traditonal "Blessing the Build" ceremony and the start of construction on the lot at 1184 Hughes Ave.  Already volunteers have been at work building window headers, door openings, and smaller interior walls in the construction area at the Habitat Center.  Also, prior to that day the floor system will be constructed.  This house will be the first built on a crawl space in more than five years to accomodate all heat ducts in conditioned space as called for in current building practice to meet Energy Star standards.

Plans for June 28 include buillidng all walls, setting trusses, and roof sheeting.  Construction Manager Roger Calvert is callling for volunteers for that day.  He does need a list of those planning to participate to make certain all have completed the required safety training to meet OSHA and Habitat insurance requirements.
